Austria 3 Kreuzer Vienna mint 1696 - should not exist???

Amongst the small foreign hammered coins mentioned in another post, was this one. It seems to be an Austrian 3 Kreuzer from the Vienna mint dated 1696 - but Numista and Krause both indicate that there should be none of this denomination beyond the 1670s. Have I missed the point, or is this a new find? Or more likely a fake?

I don't know! The Ebay item you link to certainly looks very similar to my coin, but Numista still does not show anything similar, regardless of mint. In Krause I cannot find Hermannstadt at all - is it listed under Austria or some other country?

This area of Europe and this time period can be tricky. In fact, some of the coins are nearly identical and it comes down to the legend to determine the KM#. Plus, some sources attribute them to different regions.
