If you're going to sell the 2016s, your best bet is to probably sell like 5 rolls at a time on eBay. Selling single rolls isn't really worth the price of postage and also the USPS seems to like to crush them when they're single. Some people like to search them for errors.

The 39D would probably grade VF. The 50D is the only one I had to buy to complete the set.

A lot of people never find those two, particularly the 50-D as they were hoarded so much.

I personally give up on finding silver in rolls of quarters. Like I said my thread 1942. in several of thousand. I average about 4000 a month or more. Since I have found so many doubled dies I started an album. I don't know, I would not call it a problem, Wexler's double die list keeps growing in the quarters. I can handle all the new listings because most of them are mine And I already have them. As soon as I get my list up. I will probably be looking to trade the ones I have for the ones I need.:blackalien:

The past two days are why I like Nickels the best... I found 212 pre-60s over that time amongst 4400 coins. 170 of them came out of an epic Box (I got 44 of the 50 rolls)... 3 Buffalos, a 1938-D Jefferson, an EF 1938-S, and an AU 1939-D (yes, you heard me right!) are the highlights. Also found a 42-D, 43-S, 49-S (2), and a 51-S.

Must be a great box when you ALSO found war nickels!

Actually the War Nickel and the 51-S didn't come from that box. They came from unmarked MWRs from two different branches.

As for the 44 rolls of coins from one LOOMIS box (where I found 170 of the coins), and the full 50 roll LOOMIS box I bought (which had 37 more), it appears that someone had probably been collecting these coins for a very long time and culled the silver out as they went along... and very recently cashed them all in without going through them. My best estimation as that they did this during a very long period from 1956-1979 as I found Uncirculated coins in good quantity from that period. There were a whole bunch of 1956, 1959, and 1960 dated Nickels from Philadelphia in AU and BU, some scattered dates from the rest of the 1960s in BU (mostly 1961, 1963, 1964, and 1964-D), several BU 1970-S coins which were mostly poorly struck on the reverse, and then a bunch of mostly Denver minted BU coins from 1971-1976, with some BU Philly coins from 1977-1979... Makes me think these people may have moved a few times, and brought their coins with them.

The above said, I feel so VERY fortunate to stumble upon this batch. I will be heading back there tomorrow to see if they have any more LOOMIS rolls or boxes of nickels.
