    Its quite possible the token you posted is a gaming token or similar item used as a place marker or a tally keeper. The French call them jetons. It seems to be crudely designed and made.
    I don't think it is a type of play money due to the lack of a denomination that is generally used to teach children.

    Yes i've been going through some world currency and that was actually accidental. It's not bad though. I like pennies and I'm also irish. I think it'll keep it.
