Just received an email from the US mint. The Standing Liberty quarter is scheduled to be released on Sept 8th. Does anyone have a guess as to the price range of release?
Yes I was just reading from the pricing chart they put out. Of course who knows what the spot price will be when it actually comes out.
I hope these coins come with full strikes. Come on, this is 100 years after we could get full strikes on quarters and we're only minting like 100k. Full strikes should be doable, especially since we got them on half dimes 170 years ago. Basically the same point most of us made with the 2016 gold Mercs.
Just remember that it's combining the best of two worlds: the design of a classic American coin issue, and the production quality of a lump of gold bullion.
Hopefully, I can get 10 and use the profit from ebay to pay for my own coin. Like with the merc dime =)
Here is the pricing info via coinupdate via the US Mint: http://news.coinupdate.com/u-s-mint-shares-pricing-chart-for-2016-centennial-gold-coins/ The prices based on where gold is now: Gold Per Ounce | Dime | Quarter | Half Dollar $1,300.00 to $1,349.99 |$215.00 |$485.00 |$915.00 $1,350.00 to $1,399.99 |$220.00 |$497.50 |$940.00

I'm glad they did stick with the type I, but it looks like they did chicken out over showing the nipple.
