According to this forum page in Italian, it was given to all employees. A few details about the medal are here. Quite an impressive beast, errm, piece. :)

Here's one that should interest Circus. I got this in Naples a week ago Sunday. They have a flea market outside of town and I took a taxi there and walked back. Regrettably, there were few dealers there as it rained heavily most of the morning. This was the only decent item I found, and it is a bit larger than a dime. It is from Palermo, in Sicily. Interestingly, it is coin alignment rather than medal. IMG_3493.JPG

Nice and pizza is the perfect food!
I have always enjoyed the finds that members post, along the medals and CWT's and counter stamped lines I don't collect them they still are interesting to see and read what people find.

Gresham Angling Society prize for "specimen fish." The medal is unawarded so perhaps the specimen fish weren't biting! ; )

I bet there's enough Bicentennial material for someone to spent their entire life collecting. :)
