Robbed a bank back in 1966 . Actually it was passed to me by one of uncles. Unfortunatly it's not full anymore. Gave several rolls to my two grandson and nephew about 10 years ago. Sold a few. A little more than half full. It was full but open when I got it. Searched a couple of thousand for errors, gave up and buried it in a closet somewhere. Might pull it out again someday.
I have no will power when it comes to rolls like this, I would have it opened already and on the floor rolling around on them, !
No, but it was a local purchase. I don't think there's any more where it came from but it was fun to get.
The "Apr 64" on the roll end tells me that the entire roll is not walkers. Why the drama? Open it and show us what you got.
Are you looking for specific errors? Oh, I am not talking about your German exercises, but rather the '62 quarters
Haha, vielen dank! Ich muss jetzt mehr Deutsch lernen. There is the Type B reverse and probably some DDO/DDR varieties; I haven't opened it so I haven't looked yet.
It's not my Intention to annoy someone. I am collecting complete rolls and don't want to destroy them and would be honored to see yours, Sir.
@Rheingold I am unable to control myself when finding old rolls of coins I have to at least see what I have. The only ones I have are 2009 I wasn't annoyed, merely anxious for your finds.
I got these in an estate sale a couple years ago. I paid face value for all the original shotgun rolls in the white box! There were 24 original 1969-d rolls! The other rolls outside the white box, and the 4 tubes in the box also came from the estate sell for 50% of spot price. This is my best score to date!
It was an online only estate auction. The auction company didn't advertise the original rolls as being silver and didn't post the dates of the coins. I saved one of the pics to my computer and zoomed in on the only roll with an end shown and could tell the 3rd number was a 6. I couldn't tell the last number. I figured I would take a gamble and bid up to $20 per roll. I won them all for $9 per roll plus 10 % buyers premium since no one else really bid on them. The other rolls were all advertised as being 40% silver so I bid on them for their silver content. I guess being that they were only 40% silver, I got a decent deal on them as well.
Yes I would say you did. Out of curiosity how did you find an online estate sale? Are there always good deals?
Occasionally you can get good deals on coins and medals. The lots with the least amount of details typically get you your best deals. Sometimes your local auction companies will do online auctions of estates. I would start locally by searching for auctions in your local area. I've branched out and starting looking for auction houses nationwide that offer shipping of small items such as coins. I haven't been able to find many good deals recently as everyone seems to be paying more than the items are worth. The last good item I won was a 6.4oz .999 silver Jimmy Carter medal. I got it for less than $80 and spot on it is around $130 Be careful though, I've heard of some horror stories about scammers on places like auctionzip, etc.... Make sure it is a trustworthy auction house with good reviews.
