Easy, sell them all and recover your money. Then go and buy a PF67 Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
We have the same problem! I asked to borrow my neighbor's bank account, but they didn't bite Great pieces there! I'm actually starting to put together a few higher grade Mercs myself.
I would like to respectfully recommend you hold off on purchasing for a little while. I've seen several posts where you ask people their opinions on costs. It leads me to believe that you don't know the highs and lows for the coins you are looking for and you're taking a shot in the dark. I did the same thing while on my second deployment and I regretted tossing money down the drain. The more you can learn, the better your decisions will be.
You are 100% right. Lots going on and it's been taking my mind off of things. Now to channel it elsewhere... Maybe I'll buy some coin books and read up. Suggestions?? I like Mercury dimes, VAMs on Morgan's, Peace Dollars, Seated Liberties, Ike's, Jefferson's...
It would still be given a straight grade, but it lost some points for the print. Grades are simply a measure of preservation when it comes to proof coins.
I know how you fell DysVet- I see high grade mercs and all the dopamine receptors in my brain light up.
My best guess is that the fingerprint may have been on too long and has etched into the surface. Chris
Completely understandable. Let me add that I was also working through a divorce and a deployment and coins were my distraction. I recommend some good old coin porn. Go look at eBay and coin sites and see what they're selling. Go to some coin stores and befriend dealers. See what is out there. I personally work on a US Type Set. You get one of everything and it is a lifelong project.
