Yes, you read that right. This quarter was $5. Pulled these two coins out of a five dollar tray today at my lcs. Easiest decision ever. The catch, this coin came from a person who tried to make rings started and stopped. The edge is smooth. At least it has a nice circulated cameo look to it that I like. Many nice seated and capped bust coins were damaged.
I'm sorry, I have to disagree with those posting before me. I don't think it was a good buy at all. That $5 could have been spent much better elsewhere. Assuming you have buyers remorse now I'll help relieve you of that damaged, unsightly coin. I'll even pay the shipping to show my good intent. Send it my way and I'll dispose of it properly. If you decide to keep it, then I retract the above and concur with the rest. Nice buy! Why can't I ever stumble upon hidden gems like that. Good score
Oh I’m gonna keep it. I have a nice little collection of started and stopped rings. It was a shame. The person who did this could have used Washington quarters and Kennedy halves but instead used seated and capped bust coinage.
It looks a lot better than most other damaged coins. Took me a bit to notice the funky rim. At least it is spooned consistently.
