Could not find where this coin was made. It certainly is a head scratch-er for me because the date ( 1983 ) and the number 100 are certainly readable, but the other markings, the one under the 100 and on the reverse, the markings on both sides of that person's head, I have no idea where that writing style came from....Japan? Korea ?....Unknown to me. Anyone have an idea where this coin came from?
South Korea https://www.allnumis.com/coins-catalog/south-korea/republic-1983-2016-100-won/100-won-1983-14974 https://en.numista.com/catalogue/pieces1052.html
Korean for sure…lookin’ up more info now…Spark UPDATE 3 min later: Went to NGC World Coin Catalog and entered: Korea 1983 100. Came up with South Korea 100 Won KM #35.1. Copper-Nickel. At AU55 worth $1.50. Issued 1-15-83. No listing on Mint, presume Seoul but maybe a Korean Expert member will chime in if Mint located elsewhere. @SmokinJoe
Info found at colnect.com: Apparently the Mint listed for the ‘83 100 Won is Korea Minting and Security Printing Corporaton (KOMSCO), Daejeong, South Korea Daejeong is about 95 miles Southeast of the Korean National Capital, Seoul. That’s where this coin is from…Spark
