I will get a photo of the flip pic so that you can see the proof. It is around a 165 or 195 degree rotation depending on which way you call the rotation.
I think it is close to 145° rotation or about 5 o'clockish. Here is a site with a gauge that is helpful to most people. It rolls to the right. https://www.bullionbypost.co.uk/index/collectible-coins/coin-alignment/ A very nice error coin.
Nice coin. It might interest you to know we searched literally well over $100,000 in halves and not found one rotation let alone that big of one.
Wow.. I was just about to give that same comment! Could be a magicians half dollar that got into circulation.
Yes. In fact, I'm almost certain. I've found probably 5 or 6 roll searching over the years. They're out there in circulation. You can really tell looking at the rim here: I'd get that 20 bucks back.
If that's the case then what's inside? There is some evidence of a coin roller on the reverse. I will try to get some better photos. Off to play a game of cribbage with my Bro.
I got whooped, by 2 points. We are tied. Best out of five. I skunked him the first game. He has clawed his way back to 2-2 in the series. If I would have won in three then the match would have started over. Kind of like Tennis, just the match moves on to the next odd number.
Any similar sized coin. Mexican coin like the one I posted, or British penny. Those are the ones I've seen. Or another Kennedy obverse.
