No I'm not interested who exactly at pcgs did the conservation and nobody here is because we will never know. CBD said something he was told about pcgs conservation and once again a managery of colors and emojis exploded. Page 3 here we come :bag:

And are you calling me hangry?! :punch::mad::p

I liked the before better. You asked what I think and that's my answer.

This calls for all the colors and faces:

:jawdrop: That works for me; it's a free forum. Perhaps, you should do that more often.
You may learn something new. In my experience :cigar:, closed minds generally don't indicate a high level of intelligence. Of course, this does not apply to you. Your :yack::yack::yack: :spitoutdummy: post here is very informative and adds to this thread - NOT! :p :joyful:

Which do you prefer, before or after? I liked the coin before some "ham-fisted" (and probably closed-minded know-it-all) idiot touched it.

I would have stayed with the way it was originally. the restoration looks terrible.

I still cannot wrap my head around why they dipped it rather than bathing it in acetone. Maybe they thought it was a quicker fix. Based on what I am seeing from you all, I don't think I would submit anything to them for conservation.

So by this post you are admitting, perhaps subliminally, that your experience has gone up in smoke?

How much of the original "color" was PVC?

@Paddy54 Oh no, say it is not so . Now at least three of the members I chose to FOLLOW cannot see my colors and faces. :( :bigtears::bigtears::bigtears:

:arghh::confused: What exactly are you asking? :spitoutdummy:

From the photo, IMO, the original surface has the typical gray color of an old circulated coin. There is also some haze on it. The PVC is best seen near the left side of the head. PCGS stripped it.

Am I the only one who thinks the post-conserved coin looks almost scrubbed? I might say the pre-conserved coin was "possibly cleaned at some point", but the surfaces look a LOT better. Considering the comment about different photo sources, I wonder just how firm of conclusions we can draw....just wondering.

OK, OK, I'll try to stop but so often I feel, and I'm guilty of this too, that members overlook or don't quite "catch" the meannig of a post. Color is a highlight. I also feel that by quoting a post and inserting colored comments at the point of agreement or disagreement, lots of typing time is saved and there is less chance :facepalm::eggface: to be misunderstood. Faces and color is fun!;) At least for me.:D Besides, it's the CONTENT that is important.
