Went to the store last night came home and dumped my change on my desk and this coin jumped out at me. Not rare by any means but to find one in the wild is.
Silver coins freely circulated for the first 10 years of my life. After that, as time went by you could still find silver in charge but it became more and more difficult.
Yep, I got one of these in my pocket change some months ago. I'm putting my money on the cashier thought it was a foreign coin and passed it off as a dime. It's becoming more frequent these days. I get a lot of foreign coins in my change.
Every once in a blue moon a silver Rosie will show up in my change. Never had a Merc show up. That’s very cool.
Yep! We should do a "Coolest Change Find" thread! I wonder if anyone here ever found a Walker or SLQ?
My last change find was a 1954 Washington (around 2 years ago), at my favorite local burger joint. I know the girls there pretty well and asked if they could look through the til for any other 1964 or earlier coins, but they didn't find anything else! I think they were surprised how happy I was to find that quarter and went straight away to searching for more. On occasion, I'll leave Walkers for tips along with a cash tip!
