'Tis that. Another consideration is that VAM-11 is known in PL and DMPL, which helps this coin's case, but that also means there will be "near-" examples as well. On the bright side, VAM-11 is one of the more popular ones for the date, and this would be a pretty liquid coin.

Thought I'd revive this thread with another OLD ANA slab.

Be sure to check for the doubled die obverse and tripled die reverse. The tops of GOD WE TRUST may be doubled or quadruple punched for the QDO. And there may be doubling on word UNITED and QUARTER on the reverse for the TDO.

I love old holders...My eye always goes to them first...These coins are well seasoned and many times are undergraded. On the contrary, many newer slabs seem to be overgraded. I,ve seen spotting appear in newer slabs also. I own mostly newer slabs, but still prefer the older for the quality and eye appeal.

Snagged another one today... Complete with die crack on the obverse and clashed reverse!!!. I'm becoming addicted to these old small holders! image.jpeg

The label from the old ANA holders(some small Anacs too), tends to tone silver coins. I happen to like the look of these..... IMAG2557_1.jpg IMAG2434_1.jpg IMAG2451_1.jpg

I missed this one today. I wanted it, but didn't have the funds for it. :(

That sure is a nice one, I am curious how noticeable the hairlines are, and if it would straight grade nowadays

I took the coin to the Fun show a few years ago and passed it around. Nobody could see them. I think it would straight grade but I won't be sending it in.

If that's true, then I think it would go 66...and I've owned Morgan's that had patches here and there. Dmpl coins too
