    Hi all,

Any thoughts on this copper round? It appears to once have been an old U.S. coin at some time in its life given the faint stars near the inner edge, but has been rubbed-out in place of a stamped acronym at center and someone's name (A.C. Nicely) stamped numerous times at front and back. Civil War tag or token of some kind???

Your time and thoughts are most appreciated. Thank you!

Size Approx: 1-1/8 inch. Weight Approx: 10.5 grams

It could be a matron head large cent. They weigh 10.89 grams and are 28.5 mm. in diameter. 1 1/8 inch is approximately 28.575 mm.

They used to do all kinds of strange things with coins and usually we can’t figure out why.

It does not appear to be a Matron Head. It does not have a beaded collar on either side. I believe it to be older, I'm doing a bit of research on it now. It's a head scratcher, thanks for sharing.

It’s for sure a puzzler, what throws me is the stamping on the front, maybe initials stamped
on it after the fact ?

Thank you all so much for your time and thoughts. I've been researching for days and found nothing! :( A pure puzzle as stated above.
