How :loud:does one get the best picture of Morgans? Grandma's Morgans have been will continue to be on sale on eBay. I have been selling them slowly. When I shot the pictures...they look gold. :headbang: I state on eBay..."not as gold as appears" I have for years had and continue to have 100% eBay feedback... but have always felt they should be the real color. I take the pictures with a canon digital rebel SLR vintage 2004. What say you all... for lighting, lenses etc etc etc... to take the best pictures for use on eBay...???
Investigate custom white balance in your camera manual. Not sure if your SLR supports this feature -- some low-end ones don't. Alternatively, you can correct white balance in post-processing -- most good image editors will help you do this, but in-camera white balance correction is better. If done correctly, either technique will get rid of the gold-tint in your photographs and make the color look correct like this: Hope this helps...Mike
Try taking the picture with in an all white enclosure. You can make one with two pieces of paper: just fold and tape on piece into a square and tape it onto the bottom piece of paper. Then just put the coin in the "box" and photograph.
Leadfoot, my camera has the white balance feature, it says to either: Hold Auto In Door Out Door Which is best? Thanks!
Your best results will probably come from the AUTO (or Indoor) setting, then correcting the color cast in post-processing...Mike
I think I'll just take a class on photography and get it over with. My pictures come out looking like they have green fungus on them. I can get close using a magnifying glass but still can't get the details I'm looking for.
I use a Sony DSC-V1. I don't use a tripod or anything, the pictures are taken with the camera being held in hand.
