1858 O Seated Liberty Silver Half Dollar Fake or Real?

    It is about 12,35 grams, recently bought.But its edge is rather smooth, is it real or fake? Please help me.

    The Wiley Bugert books are available at Liberty Seated Collectors Club. See if you can match up a known die marriage.

    It looks genuine, but it has been cleaned and would never get a straight grade from a legitimate grading service. The weight is within the tolerable limits. This piece was made after the weight was reduced in 1853.

    It depends on what you can / are willing to spend. Here are the closest examples I can show you from my collection, one graded, the second one raw.

    I will post the photo of the edges. But it is good to hear it is genuine. Thanx for ur comment. I would return it to the auction house if it were a replica .
