My local bank called and offered me $190 of Ike dollars. Picked them up today and they said a customer brought them in in a green bag that looked like it hadn’t been opened since the 70’s. It appears there are quite a few bicentennial with other dates from ‘71 to ‘78 so far. They are mostly in good shape with a few having some condition issues. I will post some pics after I get a chance to look through some of them. Thanks in advance. big question: is there anything special I should look for on these besides condition?
Look for type differences on 1971. Also doubling varieties exist from 1971-77. Both Wexler and VV should list the majority. Check for silver Ikes too. I don’t know if there are any major, in-demand varieties. You would have to look to see…imo…Spark
My father had about 50+ Ikes in his collection. Many duplicates. I shared with my brother. I'm not much of an IKE dollar, but they were my fathers.
