So here it is, I personally like it more as a 66. It just doesn't have that deep blazing luster that I would expect out of a 67. It is extremely clean as far as contact.
Not, saying that, just saying that it's a pretty coin, I really didn't buy it for the grade, just that I really liked it for the price.
It is a later die state so it is going to be moving that light around but you need it in hand to really see that and you’ve it in thick plastic. Think of it like judging the reflectivity of a diamond you’ve in hand and then judging it encased in a plastic holder, same thing. I think ICG gets the technical aspects pretty right, it’s every bit a 67, probably. The others clown with market intangibles like color and eyeball appeal and all that jazz. Just my opinion, don’t nobody freak out.
I bought a Lincoln over the weekend. It has the same blue tones. As soon as I can get photos I will do a guess the grade.
While I graded the coin MS66, I really don't think the coin looks out of place in an MS67 holder. I'm a little confused about some of the really low grades guessed for this coin, it certainly looks premium gem to me.
