Guess that @Victor_Clark will recognize it; it has a note: Victor's Imperial Coins Ex. @gsimonel who wrote on the coin holder this attribution, stating it is rare: Theodosius I, Æ4, Thrace, Constantinople, 392 – 395 AD; 15 mm, 2.1 g RIC IX Constantinople, 89a; Cohen 21 Ob.: DN THEODO-SIVS P F AVG Bust of Theodosius I, pearl-diademed, draped and cuirassed, to r. CONSA Pictures are unfortunately mine, the coin is really small and dark, I really did the best I could:
@Valentinian has a pair of useful pages on these: http://augustuscoins.com/ed/ricix/type42i.html http://augustuscoins.com/ed/ricix/type42.html Here's a Theodosius from Cyzicus (16mm, 1.91g, 6h), RIC IX 29A, Esty Type 42: Somewhere I've got Arcadius & Honorius with this reverse, and maybe a couple of other mints. A few days ago, I found receipts showing a bunch of coins I sold G.Simonelli years ago. (I've been having anxiety since, hoping it was good stuff! Unfortunately I didn't keep photos.) From another post: I liked the idea of Victor having bought back a coin he'd sold to G.S. when it appeared at CNG, so I'm watching for any I recognize. (I expect mine would be "group lot coins.")
