Picked this guy up for $15! One of the bolder re-punched dates for 1865, and one I've never found before until now! (Last pic from Cherrypicker's Guide).

Very nice. You have proven time and time again to have an eye for well simply winning.

Another nice score! And that one is not one that just jumps out at you. Could easily be missed by an untrained eye,.

Nice pick!! That would be an easy Buy It Now purchase. Was it an auction or BIN?

$20 or best offer. I think I got it for $15.50, actually.

Hahaha!! That is the cherry on top of the Cherrypick! A steal at the asked price but then you nab it for 75% of the asking price. Nice job. :)

I wasn't sure it was the RPD when I offered. But I figured $15 was well worth a regular 1865 that looked AU50 to my eye.

Those are the risks, and it paid this time around. I have bought several coins on eBay hoping it was what it looked like, but then to be let down when it arrived.

But just recently I have one coin that showed up and turned out to be exactly what I thought it was. A second example is on it's way and due to arrive tomorrow.

I've spent quite a bit of time looking for errors in the Lincoln cents and have found quite a few RPM's and DDO's. I don't get a chance to go through large amount of Indians. Awesome find!

Yeah, and how many hundreds of Ebay listings do you look through in order to become "lucky" once? Lather, rinse, repeat. :)

@C-B-D Congratulations you eagle-eye collector. I should like to pour sour grape juice on that awesome "find" at a stupid cheap price but it has already been done above. :jawdrop::bucktooth::facepalm: Those collectors with knowledge (who take the time to look) make their own luck. ;)

BTW, I cannot tell you how many times I've seen the co-author of that variety book sitting at a dealer's table going through hundreds of coins in red boxes. :)
