No idea if it's circulated or not.

It has nice luster on both sides and sort of cartwheels when you turn it. There are no hairlines. But once again, I'm having trouble seeing wear on copper. Is it weak strike or wear? No idea, but it's probably going to PCGS next week.

I say no it hasn't been in circulation. The high points on this would be a dead give away .

I like it. Let us know what PCGS says. I say MS63RB, but what do I know other than my two cents isn't worth as much as yours.

It's almost not worth sending in after grading fees and shipping, even at MS63 RB. I'm into it $70. Been thinking about putting it in my new (used) Dansco 7070 type set. But alas... I can't keep anything.

No way to confidently fall either side of the slider line based on images, with these. Going with my gut, the nature and quantity of the marks - small as they are - hint at some bit of circulation to me. As such, even a coin as lovely as this example - I'd own it :) - is probably best kept raw if profit is a consideration. The strike (think the dies weren't square, a little light on the left side) and carbon spots will cut into desirability by the buying public.

That proves it...send it in. Bet it gets an MS-63.

That's what I was thinking. The nature of the marks, most notably in the reverse, as minute as they are seem to say it slightly circulated at some point. What do I know of grading these though and who knows what the tpg guy will think

I did acetone it for a while, but those spots on the reverse won't budge. I love the color, and I don't want to ruin this coin, so I'm done working on it.

    Why is this?

Because I have to make money to pay bills, so I always try for a month to keep something, but then end up selling it to make a few bucks.

Acetone will not remove carbon spots from anything. I'll bet the coin looks duller than in the OP. I'm revising my grade opinion down to MS-62. The weak area on the leaves is original and shows marks from the planchet that were not struck out. Really nice coin. IMO, you stole it!

I'd consider that uncirculated and a very nice coin to have. Good pick up.

I'd say market acceptable for a 63 . I'd say it's seen a few pockets but was picked out early , too bad for that reverse .

Given that the WE in the motto is without wear (judging by these photos), I'm going with others who say unc. The left side is obviously weakly struck.

I'd be curious to see what it grades if you send it in (which I wouldn't do).

How about the 2? It looks a tad rough, like some wear is evident. Not sure if that's a high point with these. The "we" is a higher point and looks untouched.
