Only the person that did it knows why. Search this site for 'squeeze job' and 'vise job'. There a many more of these out there.
I did something like that for a friend who was a big time Canadian collector. I took a new Canadian cent put a Roosevelt dime on top of it and hit it with a hammer, it let a nice incluse impression. We both had a good laugh about it.
This Dime it's no mine, a friend asked me to discover what was going on? Any way. My personal believing is that. A PARTIAL DIE CLASH. There are infinity of Die Clash's smaller than this one. It's almost impossible for some body make "Incuse marks" in both sides, without damaging all the rest of the coin. Thank for your opinion any way.
