    I fail to see how this could possibly be anything but "damage".

    My best guess would be that someone put it in a vise with a leaf shaped die.

    Both sides were deliberately worn down. Something was pressed so hard into the obverse that it pushed the reverse out in the same pattern. all before the excessive wear. PMD.

    Interesting. I never saw any coin quite like that in all my 28 years of collecting. Ha, ha! I don't know what I would do with it.

    At least the idiot that got a hold of that coin was creative. There's a label on the pictures. Is someone trying to peddle it?
