At the risk of getting political, do you really think that anyone in Congress cares about you?

Good point. Ha, ha! I suppose members of congress can be indifferent to you, me and most others unless we have enough money to bribe them.

I've lived and collected through it. It was discussed on the forums as far back as 2005 when the legislation was passed. I even brought up the question back then on other forums. (I didn't join CoinTalk until 2007) The Mint has had the release order and dates of release on their website since 2005. At first it ended with Nixon. When Ford died in 2006 he was added to the list. At no time did Reagan appear on the list. In 2014 when Carter was still alive less than two years before a coin for him would have appeared the question about Reagan came up again. Would he or wouldn't he get a coin. The the Mint announced that he would get one and his name appeared on the list on the Mint website. A search using the wayback machine might bring up the earlier copies of the list that don't have Ford's or Reagan's name on them. A search through the Press releases on the Mints website would probably turn up the PR about Reagan getting his coin.

one of the things that I continually promote with these coins is that it is my opinion that over time, these coins may be collected.

When that time comes, the pristine golden colored (untoned) coins will be the ones that are most sought after. The coins tone so easily, that I believe that they will be scarcer in original color and much like Lincoln Cents may command a premium in that (original) state.

smalldollars mentions that beyond Reagan the "order is uncertain".

I thought the order was very certain! There won't be anymore in the series - the series has ended!!! Unless of course they get creative with their interpretation again.

edit: u.s. mint press release says program has ended...
