image.jpg image.jpg Would anyone happen to know anything about this 1965 dime? I thought it was pretty neat and I'm trying to find more info on it!!

It looks like it was caught in a washing machine or dryer for a while. Check it against a regular dime, and it will be a bit smaller in diameter.

I know this post is almost 10 years old from 2006 and that this was the members only post.. but I just had to mention that Nickels do not have Obverse and Reverse layers with a copper core such as modern Dimes and Quarters do. They are completely Cupro-Nickel - I want to share this webpage with you - http://www.usmint.gov/mint_programs/circulatingCoins/index.cfm?action=CircNickel

Thank you!! My son is amazed by it. He'll now have something to take for show-and-tell with accurate information.

I own over 400 toned Morgans, Halves, quarters U.S.. The toning if its natural will slowly continue for the next 50 or more years until it turns black. (Silver mostly)
All toned coins bring premiums in top grades but only for those who are willing to pay the price (as all coins).

Toned coins can be valuable, black-toned coins are normally worth melt value.

One picture is worth a thousand words, and this was "War and Peace". Seriously, a nice nickel, there are some Canadian collectors here who can tell you what it might be worth.

One is a D ( Denver). The other two are S ( San Francisco ). The lower S has more circulation damage.
