I just picked this up on eBay. The photo's are from the seller and I wanted to get your opinions on possible grade. It's supposed to arrive on Tuesday. I just have a thing for these Type 1 Buffalo's.

Mighty fine looking coin. The mint mark looks a little suspicious to me though.

Are you referring to the mint mark being filled?

No, I'm not sure what I am seeing. It just looks funny to me, like t's not a full outline.

Just doesn't look original - almost looks like it has been slightly polished. Shouldn't have flat spots on it that are too "BRIGHT" - I have a 13-P that is NGC 64. I'll put a pic up (much) later today so you can see the difference.

I know what you mean. I have several including a really nice 13-P in a PCGS 64 holder. I paid AU money and the seller has a return policy. If not, he sold it as Unc and if it's AU or details, worst case I could SNAD it. I'm hoping it looks really good in hand.

Love the texturing on the reverse. I would guess it's altered. Horn looks off.

No expert in Buffalo but it is a very nice looking coin. I don't see any problem with the mint Mark an I have seen some other buffalo looks like that.

Almost looks like an RPM, although I found none for this date.

As a comparison: You can see the coin's surfaces aren't all the same "shinyness"

I arrived in record time. The Post Office has been blazingly fast for me lately. I bought this on Friday, it shipped Saturday and arrived today. It came from Biloxi, MS to Vancouver, WA via First Class package.

Anyway, I examined it and it has been cleaned and will go back. It's a shame as the details, luster and lack of hits would have probably been enough to get a GEM grade. But, it's been cleaned so I will be returning it.

    Looks very fake to me.

I agree with you @Markus1959 , but it's not fake. I've already started the return on it. I'm on a Buffalo hunt again. Wish I had a Romulan War Bird that could decloak and snipe one for me.. ;):joyful:
