I think I found the 1976-D FS-101 Bicentennial Quarter!

I think I found the 1976-D FS-101 Bicentennial Quarter coin roll hunting today! If it is FS-101, is it necessary to send it to a TPG to sell it? And what do you think the grade and value is. Thank you!

Sorry, I would guess MD or machine doubling. I don't see any notching.

Have you looked at the links provided? And also look at the bottom left corners of the "B" and "I" for the notches.

You're trying too hard, friend. You're not seeing the obvious, this quarter is a piece of junk, whatever it is. Variety Vista doesn't tell you that, they want you to go insane looking for these crazy things no collector in their right mind cares about, that's how they sell their books. No disrespect, collect what you want. But @Kentucky is right, this isn't their FS-101. And I still think that's a fighter jet, and if it's not, it should be.

We often see these coins that have the same doubling, just different die stages. Thanks for the Link @Kentucky . You been hanging out next to the salt lick a bit too much lately Eddie?

Grade AU. maybe an XF if it doesn't show much luster. There should be some next to the devices for AU.

 

Yeah I think they just found it in South Carolina.

 

That was an f35 Lightning, they found it. the pilot flipped the Auto Pilot switch to try to gain control.

 

I see the notching on the LIBE/LIBERTY, but not the horizontal on the lower leg of the L, which may have been obliterated.

Overall, it could be a FS-101, but the gazillion contact marks and lack of definition plays against it. I am inclined to declare it a bonifide but degraded FS-101.

I can 100% see the doubling, even in the photos in the OP.
And it appears to be actually significant doubling that can be seen without any magnification. Much cooler than all the doubled dies that can only be seen with a microscope.

The signs are showing on the lettering of LIBERTY and IGWT. The ribbon shows it as well. A different stage to the one you link as Stage B, IMO as the shearing on the mintmark is not as pronounced on yours, but there nonetheless as a die marker. Nice find.
