These pictures are not taken by me so apologize for the low quality What coins are these and are they significant in anyway? Still just learning. Thanks
Those are peace dollars. We love them. Ben I’d kinda just for silver. If you show both sides of the coin. We’ll be All over it. Morgan’s need Both sides always. I remember you
6 common date Peace Dollars. 4 common date Franklin Halves and it looks like 4 1921 Morgan Dollars P D or S they are all common dates. BUT, there is a value between 300 to 350 dollars there. I sure like em! Late edit: I guess I am a bit low on my value estimate. Added $50 to the range.
The first photo they are called Peace Dollars. They contain .7734 ounces of silver and the retail for about $30 to $35 in my area depending on the price of silver. The second photo is Franklin Half Dollars. They go for about $11-$13 each as they are 90% silver. The last photo has 4 Morgan Dollars. The same price as the Peace Dollars us normal. Again, they are silver. I can’t see the reverse do no telling if there is a mint mark but all the dates are considered common.
Since you are relatively new to coins, if you just recently got the coins, be careful as fake ones are common from Asia and the photos are a little fuzzy. If you mean to sell, try a coin club if one is near or a dealer that appears honest. But they are not very valuable , just the silver portion. GL, Jim
The Peace Dollar was issued in the wake of World War I, which was billed as "the war to end all wars." That turned out to be sadly and wildly inaccurate. The original design had the eagle on the reverse bending a sword. At first, it was thought that symbolized peace. Later it was pointed out that a broken sword was a symbol of surrender. So the design was changed to what you see today. Here is the latest Peace Dollar, the 2023-S
FWIW about all we can tell you off those pictures is they're 90% silver with around $200-worth in them at today's market prices.
Nice looking coins. If you are one of those camera people don't be shy about posting some individual coin photos. James
