Working on the Capped Bust Half Dime set by die marriage. Just got this one. It's the 1836 LM-7 die marriage, Obverse 3 and Reverse JJ, Rarity 4. Obverse die was lapped and lower ball of first 3 was recut in the die. Both dies were tired as you can tell from the flow lines on the obverse and the dentil weakening/shallow letters on the reverse.

The set consists of 124 die marriage and remarriages. Here's my set stats:

Total number of coins including duplicates is 96 of which the average grades are Mean 48 and Median 53. Standard Deviation is 15.

The die marriage set which consists of the best coins is 75 of which the average grades are Mean 52 and Median 55. Standard deviation is 11.

I'll take your word on that! I thought I'd been married a bunch of times, I'm not even close, lol. Love the coin, BTW.

Alert the news media. I actually bought a "collector coin" for the first time since January 2015. 8+ years now that I count!! :jawdrop:

What could the coin be? Well, I decided I wanted a better example of a war Nickel, as my CAC example is just too "dull", as it's value is a major variety as opposed to how booming and pretty the higher grades MS66+ can be.

    Coin I am (probably) replacing:

The eleventh coin I have added to my collection of mint state examples of United States Mint circulating coin issues for 1937.

I don't add to my US collection often as I'm a world coin collector mostly. I did pick up this nice Morgan dollar because I really enjoyed the toning. Not a rare date or high grade, but I like it. The obverse looks much better in hand than the true view shows. MS62. Polish_20230829_002410027.jpg Polish_20230829_002436058.jpg

And, that is all that matters! That's the joy of coin collecting, collect what you like. I like it, too, but that's not important. Congratulations, Kenneth

Mostly trying out a new cell phone. The reverse is the same size as the obverse lol. Both phone and coin are new though.
