Thank you. How many legs can you see on the photos? Forget about varieties.

Actually Marcus jumped to a conclusion and didn't address the question. Does this buffalo nickel have three legs? (The fact that it isn't a D mint coin is immaterial.)

My answer is I can't tell from the image and the odd coloration. In hand I might be able to tell.

We need to factor the point (warning, opinion follows) that the "real" 3-Leg Buffalo is an anomaly of an "error," simply die polishing - a thing which can happen to any die at any time - which happened somehow to become an outrageously-popular "error coin." Dies losing details to polishing is hardly uncommon and usually not a value-added proposition, at least not to the level of the 3-Leg. The example here seems to show weak leg details - as Conder said, difficult to say for sure due to the color - but more importantly, even if the leg is weak from polishing, does it really matter in the grand scheme of things?

I see environmental damage that sort of masks the right front leg, but it is there. ;)
