I'm looking here And it seems the two parts might be there... if we could see it. I agree that light needs to be shining from the left side of the mint mark.

If you don't zoom in too close on the photos and kind of glance more at a distance your able to see what I think I'm seeing more clearly. I'll still get you more photos though.
I think what you are seeing is just some mechanical doubling of the mintmark. The D/S OMM should show the loop of the S protruding from the northwest of the D. In addition, you will often see a large die gouge that looks like an arrow pointing at the OMM (see photos below courtesy of NGC Variety Plus).
Taking good close up photos of a coin can be daunting. Practice different techniques. Question 1, do you physically hold the camera/phone in your hands while taking the picture? If yes, that's the first change you should make. Place the coin on a stable surface. Place the phone with the lens overhanging a solid stationary support above the coin. Set the timer. Don't touch the phone or coin. Let the stabilized phone capture the picture with no shake involved. Q2: do you edit the photo before posting? At the bare minimum you should crop out all unnecessary chatter outside the subject coin. When pasting the full coin into your post the edges of the coin should touch the borders of the picture. No table, chair, countertop, or anything else should be in the background. And most important, practice, practice, practice.
Definitely appreciate this reference photo. What appears to look like an arrow is a big help. I will examine my coin again and if I still think it's relevant I will post clearer pictures for you all to evaluate!
