When did the mints decide to change the shape of the torch flame on the dime? I know it was after 1976. Can anyone else see the difference between the 3 around. The other one the flames are different right?
I believe the flame first made a change in 69. From RDV-001 to RDV-002. The two different variety's can be found on 69, 70, and 70D. Here are the reverse variety's. http://varietyvista.com/07 Roosevelt Dimes/Reverse Design Varieties.htm
Thank you Picken and Agrinin I didn't know about the different flames. Thanks for the link as well. You see everyone? Every time I'm here I learn something new that's what makes this the best forum I know
Thinking of changes and how the "man-on-the-street" responds to them, a number of years ago I was in Japan at a Japanese manufacturing plant for awhile when I purchased something from a vending machine and got some 10 yen coins back. I noticed that some were reeded and some had a plain edge. I pointed it out to some of the Japanese I was working with, and the response was Eh!
