could just be over polishing of the die or grease filled, i wouldn't consider it an error, but some might...
I ( think ) and maybe someone can correct me but sometimes the missing VDB is the result of abrasion or an abraded die coin?
I will give you my 2 cents on this sublect. I have found a Lot of coins that are missing stuff. Letters/words, partial. or no date, even blank planchets before and after the upset mill. They are all nice conversation pieces but none are going to be worth much. Don't get me wrong I like them, and keep them. The coin that is going to be valuable is the coin that has something extra minted on it not the absence of a feature. A doubled die has extra impressions on the die from the doubling. A die clash has extra features imprinted on the die. A struck through is going to have additional shapes, and textures, a doublestruck. Cud, broadstrike, etc.... All have added features although some original features may get destroyed. That is my Zen philosophy on coins minting errors
