Don't know about other folks, but I tend to accumulate plastic grading boxes. You send in one coin, it comes back in a box with twenty slots .... the proverbial black-hole packing. I attend enough major shows that I periodically return them to the grading services. But, I'm thinking maybe there's some use for them such as: 10. store fishing supplies. 9. store knitting and sewing supplies. Have to ask my wife. 8. store cookies and crackers. 7. store carrots and celery. 6. take to recycling center. Nah, too boring 5. store goat treats. Don't ask. 4. store ammo. Mine is 22, 12 ga and 20 ga ... all the wrong size! 3. use as shooting targets. 2. store surgical instruments. Don't ask. 1. sell on eBay as rare, MS-70 boxes. Other ideas? Cal
Store unprepared Devonian fossils (at least that's what one of my daughters would do) Replace the rusty coffee can of odd hardware you'll never use that's in the basement with a stack of sleek, blue boxes full of odd hardware you'll never use.
Sell them on the forums. I would buy a few if the price was cheap enough (I would cover shipping... hehe)
I was going to take a bunch to Anaheim, but if you want to pay shipping from the Sacramento area, PM me. Cal
Buy more coins to fill them up. If your budget won't allow you to do that (or your wife would kill you if you did) there appears to be a market for them on eBay.
You can sell them! There are tons of collectors that buy professionally graded coins, but do not submit them. If I saw one at a coin show, I would buy one!
I have no use for them. See my posting: https://www.cointalk.com/threads/pl...d-ngc-standard-slabs-past-and-present.279966/ . I use heavy-duty black cardboard boxes that hold all sizes. Grading service boxes go for about $3 with free shipping on eBay. I live in the country, and it takes about 45 minutes to the PO each way. Yeah, we go into town periodically for other reasons, but buyers expect fast shipping. Not worth it unless I accumulate about 20 and sell them as one lot. I rather give them to someone on the forum if they'll pay shipping. Right now I've got about 12. They weigh about 10 oz. each. Packaging would be 2-3 lbs. more. I'm not willing to do more than one shipment; it's all or none. They're in good shape; mostly PCGS with a few Whitman and NGC. I fully guarantee they'll be empty. Cal
