Please guess the grade of the 1938-D Jefferson Nickel shown below. I went MS-66+ on this one, No FS. Very clean coin with minimal marks but I think the spotting on the rim prevents it from getting the 67. For the steps I see 5-5-4-5...so no FS.
MS 67 (not 5fs) ....I was going back and forth between 66 and 67 but decided to give the clean fields the benefit of doubt. The fused steps under the third column make me think that it did not get 5fs unless the grader was being generous.
I went with MS65FS with maybe a plus. I think that the bag mark high on the cheek and the rim dings obverse and reverse hold it from 66. Even if the luster is there.
