About the size of a dime, this coin represents one of the best (and affordable) portraits of Maurice Tiberius that I've been able to find. Worth 10 Nummi, or a fourth of a follis.

    Very nice! Congrats!

I mostly have folles and some half-folles. The smaller denominations are a realm that I have not explored to any extent.

Yesterday I took a look at the unsold lots from Roma's Byzantine auction, and ordered this ten nummi from Catania. I've never owned a coin from this mint, so I figured better now than never.

Maurice Tiberius Æ 10 Nummi. Catania, dated RY 17 = AD 598-599. D N TIbER mAVRC P P AVI, crowned and cuirassed bust facing, holding globus cruciger / Large I between ANNO and ΧςI; CAT in exergue. BCI 203; MIBE 136; DOC 275; Sear 581. 3.07g, 14mm, 6h.
