Considering the amount of those struck in cu-ni in proof (20 pieces) this could have been the purchase of your life.

Open dispute, leave negative to warn others and hopefully make the seller think about his actions and their results.

When you open a case , You are just going to guarantee getting your money back. If you don't wan't to expose this seller to other unaware buyers with a NEGATIVE FEEDBACK, that is another step in the process and you don't have to do that. At least get your money back. I AM TALKING PRINCIPLE HERE, EVEN IF IT WAS FOR ONLY TEN CENTS I WOULD DO IT.

You say that you are a seller yourself. Do you operate like that??

Guys - I could give a hoot about the $16, I just want to give him a chance to defend himself. I had doubts, then the link to the pictures sealed it. I however, will at least give him a chance to make it right...

Never sold anything, 365 feedback 100% Positive as buyer. After these things I hope I never have to sell anything on eBay.

It is not a 1950. Hebrew date on this type is translated as 1949.

Although calling a 1949 coin "antique" is generally acceptable, IMHO it does not feel right on a coin forum.

    For future reference:

25 pruta 1949 with pearl BU is worth $3-5

25 pruta 1949 without pearl BU is worth $11-15

A cautionary tale about buying coins from China. Like every other one.

Oh ok, I sell myself and I am an honest seller and other than other sellers selling everything so cheap, it is a great place to sell especially when you open it up to the international community with the exeption of a few countrys. Best of luck to you whatever you decide.

Well here is what he said..
Well it has no pearl, so $11 right? Not BU however far from it. I will think about this one..

    My reply,
Well, being it is nowhere near BU (Brilliant Uncirculated), it is not worth $16, far from it.

I have to go to bed,

Here is what the coin is worth, what do you think is fair if I paid $16 for it? I will let you propose a solution.

There IS some value there, but the condition would make it very hard to find a buyer. This is why I think the seller knowingly did a nasty deed.

It was very easy to find all pruta issues for my collection and not so long ago I even managed to get this BU set for a great price (not my photo):

It was I who mentioned seller. I don't usually sell coins unless doubles or ones replaced. I mostly sports & collectables. Feeds the coin collection, kinda feeding the beast if you will.
No I would never scam another person have some dignity.

Since it's an Israeli coin in China, shouldn't we assume it's fake anyway? Like no value.

Not from China, came from Isreal......seller poor English but that doesn't make up for it.

The coin TS received is authentic. I am not aware of any pruta fakes, Chinese or not.

The fact seller had some weird China shipment option was another red flag.

When I get home I will look and see, otherwise a case will be opened.

Package came from Haifa, seller is new and i think the china thing was just a goof...packing legit. Why would he send a registered mail for a $1 coin. He just goofed I think....

That's not the point. The guy intentionally misled you with a stolen photo (from NGC no less!).

    That's not a "beginner's mistake." It's fraud.

If you don't push back to the full extent available to you, you're simply reinforcing bad behavior.
