What is this called? is that a cud on the mint mark? Is there a die break on the 9? Found in a bag of wheat pennies. Thanks!
I can tell you what it's not.. Not a CUD Cuds are formed at the edge or rim of a coin. When the outer edge of the Die breaks away it forms a cud on the coin. Not to sure if you have a Die Chip since it's in bad shape but it is a fairly common occurrence and not much of a premium for it.
