    is this some kind of hub doubling or MD?

    would have been nice if it was the real thing, the date behind this MD is a 1969 S, only one can hope right?! haha

    It would have been nice If I found one in the hundreds of thousands of pennies I've searched. I don't expect I will ever find one. They are very rare. There are 10 to 15 million roll searchers at any given time in the US, and less than a dozen have eve been found.

    i can imagine, thats why i got super excited to see it, but o well just another reason for us too keep hunting. Hey look at it this way, atleast we have a head start for those who doesn't do this as a hobby haha

    pardon my lack of knowledge, but what does "MD" mean?

    MD = Machine Doubling, where the press strikes the coin twice, leading to doubling.

    Hub doubling is when the die itself has a doubled characteristic due to the improper alignment of the hub when making the die itself.
