Cleaned Macedonian

    I managed to shoot this Tet of Alexander the Great which weighs 16.44 g. Actually I posted it before but it wasn't cleaned then. The coin is solid silver and well struck. I like it that way, no matter. Still I would request your kind opinion in matter of authenticity.

    Perhaps @Ken Dorney , @maridvnvm etc can nail down authenticity....

    I'm leaning towards genuine, although 'something' seems a bit odd but that's just a humble opinion based on an initial impression and nothing more. So many 'varieties' over so many centuries make it virtually impossible for me to ever be sure so I almost always depend on the reputation of the seller.

    I guess I'll be the first, but the coin looks cast. Not only are there a lot of surface pock marks the devices are very mushy. The transition from the fields to Alexander's face is not sharp, and Zeus's legs also appear very mushy. It just does not look struck to me.

    yeah, i don't like the looks of this one either.....hope i'm wrong.
