See this nice looking Seated Half Dollar and was curious if coins besides morgans get the DMPL recognition? Or any non-dollars? https://www.ebay.com/itm/155682863046? Do you think any other series or denomination deserves the recognition?
Yes, there are definitely DMPL Seated Halves, but the photos in this seller's store remind me of another eBay seller that I would not buy from. In fact, I believe other members here on CT stated similarly. That seller was also situated in the Denver area. I've looked for the seller's username history, and can't find it. I suggest you consider with caution.
I just confirmed it is the same seller using a new name . . . the following link will take you to an earlier CT discussion of this seller when they used their previous eBay seller name. Following the links in that thread should take you to the same store under their new name. https://www.cointalk.com/threads/will-this-1893-s-morgan-straight-grade.406601/#post-24650595
Scrolling through PCGS I see a handful of half dollar dates designated as PL but no DMPL. The subject coin is raw so the seller is just making stuff up. I recognize the old timey checks background but I can't remember what seller that used to be, Canon City or something.
Looking at the seller's feedback profile, that high number of revised feedbacks is a huge red flag for me.
I believe only dollars can get DMPL attribution (classic coins, I know some 5oz pucks have received DMPL). Other coins can get the PL attribution.
Very wrong. I have numerous DPL graded coins from a wide range of series. The DPL designation is based solely on the degree of reflection... A deeply mirrored coin will get the DPL! One of my favorites is this DPL Seated Quarter
