PCGS confuses me with their comparison or large vs medium letters on the 1830 large cent. Is this coin a medium letter?
You have "med ltrs" the big tell is the space between the A and the ribbon here's my med letters 1830.. not the easiest LC to come by as Sal said the Med letters are much less common
Here is a comparison of the reverses of two 1830 cents from my collection. The 1830 N-6 Medium letters on the left. In my experience, the best way to tell is to compare the spacing at the BOTTOM of the letters "TATE". @scguy , your example is a large letters. Sorry I cannot tell you which Newcomb variety, but it is not the N-6 Medium Letters.
Thanks everybody! Forgot I posted this, I figured it out after. The D in United lining up with the leaf is a good marker, I wonder why PCGS leaves that comparison up though?
