Recent listing on the Bay is this 1836 Capped Bust half dollar.

Others I have documented include an 1809, 1824 and 1833. All have a cast look to them, especially the reverses. The 1833 is available in a fake PCGS slab as well...

There appears to be a matching ding on the obverses as well:

If I am seeing what I think I am seeing all these coins have the same flaws, is that correct? These are of particular interest to me because I would like to start collecting these in a year or so.

Seems like I am always thanking you for what you do to help the hobby. Just know the thanks and I'm sure everyone else here is sincere in those thanks you are given.

Almost everything in America is made in China. I'm so sick of this that I removed my accounts from eBay, PayPal, and freeze our online coin collection purchases. No matter what we do we cannot entirely get away from China's dominance. Sad-sad-sad state we are in with no end in sight! If it's made in China, it's likely TRASH, CRAP, or FAKE in my opinion.

Yep; use a genuine source coin to make the dies and then add various dates...
