Colorfully Toned 1828-32 Japanese 2 Bu

    You don't usually see colorfully toned gold coins.

    Bought this one raw in a Japanese auction. There were maybe 10-15 similar toned examples, including (in my opinion) several of questionable authenticity. Of the ones I thought were genuine, this one had some of the nicest toning. Just graded at PCGS MS63.

    Pretty nice tone!

    These have a higher probability to tone as their gold content are pretty low. Around 50% if I recall correctly.
