Welcome to my 52,000 likes celebration. This note has the second printing upside-down. Nice that it occurred on a $100 note. It’s a 1977 series note from the Boston area. It also contains the small photo of Benjamin Franklin. It’s nice and crisp, well centered and it has no falls or stains. I don’t think this note saw any circulation.

I guess the error was noticed early and put safely away.
It is amazing (at least to me) how few people actually look at their money. I have seen many significant errors on singles that are on well circulated notes indicating that nobody took the time to look at them. Or maybe they just did not care, or thought they had a counterfeit and were not going to get stuck with it.

I have those same thoughts myself. I’m very pleased to have this note to add to my collection as they are are to find and especially on higher denominations.

I have a similar note with bookends (but only a $1 note). Apparently, somehow a sheet was inserted into the stack backwards after the first and second printings. The top note is over lit and is not a lighter imprint.

Thanks Pam, I really like this error as it doesn’t happen very offer and especially on large denominations. They print a lot more one dollar bills than they do hundred dollar bills.

We all talk about the government "printing more money", but dang.

Yes and rarely I would find anything when working at the bank. Like you said it’s usually ones. Congrats! I hardly have a collection but I enjoy seeing the finds!

That makes it look like we are using less cash and more plastic.

I look at all of my bills too. I even take it a few notches higher, at the end of the day, every day, I always put my bills in denomination & date order and then into my wallet. The next day, I only pull out from that organized stack while putting the incoming bills towards the back, for later review.

Have you found many interesting bills over the years?

Yes, a few 1963D dollar bills in brand new crisp condition. Also a Barr note in very good condition. I'm thinking these bills were used as bookmarkers and eventually found recently and put back into circulation. Also the usual star notes as well. I also look for 1988 bills as well. My favorite year of my life (so far). I was old enough to buy my first CA super lottery ticket (which I still have in a scrap book), I graduated high school, joined the Navy, went through basic training, school and reported for duty in Japan onboard the USS Midway, all that year. Lot's of great things happened to me in 1988, so I look for and collect bills of that specific year.

That's about all I've come across noteworthy in all my daily paper money searches.
