@Sallent you have made a spectacular start. Come back in 10 years and tell us how many coins you have
i have 314 ancient coins, just counted (not including junk/give away bag/currently uncleaned/or modern coins...which i have several).
Oh man, I am amazed at the folks that can clean the uncleaned coins! I just have no patience, and minimal expertise. My hats off to you!. Yeah, and I have beau-coup moderns...
I thought about trying a lot of coins to clean before. But I barely want to clean my desk. Maybe someday, I will try a batch and see.
Vologese VI, Drachm 3.62 gr For those interested in parthian coinage, a friend of mine has built a website dedicated to parthia and parthian coin, which, althought written in french, might be very useful : http://www.parthika.fr/ Q Edit : sorry I forgot the link in first place (been distracted while typing...)
"PALTRY"? Mat, what I know and have seen of your collection is impressive! Organized, well researched, expertly attributed, specialized and focused in a niche you love, and expertly pruned and grown as you find new and/or replacement coins. There is never "PALTRY" when you have built such a great collection.
Great coin! It is both full dot border and normally off center. It was really struck hard spreading it out to large size. I wonder if it was struck on an older coin which was erased by the strike.
Naw, that was a TUESDAY MORNING strike! Workers have worked off the Monday blues, and Tuesday morning is some of the best production time! Slammin' that hammer!
