Today's new pickup is this great design $10 Obsolete from the Miners and Planters Bank of North Carolina. Who's a pretty boy? This note is, great design elements, fancy red overprints, lots of great engraving, of course, it's from those experts at ABNCo so you know it's gonna look good...
An addition to my serial #12 collection. I usually don't collect $100's, but when a #12 super repeater comes along, I had to act. From last months Lyn Knight Auction.
Just got this German banknote.Man, this thing is huge. Its in great shape for its age I think. I really like the artwork on this. I also just ordered another with a dragon on it.
I have the Dragon note as well old49er, posted it a page or two back... Well, I hope you like obsoletes, cause I think we're in for a nice long run of them... let's keep the hits coming with this $2 Michigcan obsolete from the Bank of Macomb County. A nice design with many engravings, some horses, a train, and enough $2 counters and red overprint to convince note raisers to look elsewhere...
techwriter; For some reason I just love bank notes with the number instead of the letter identifying them. They look so much better.
This radar - flipper note could not be resisted == == These two radars were calling out 'take us home' ==
Today's new pickup is this sharp designed obsolete $5 from the Bank of Lexington. Have you ever looked at a note, liked the design so much you bought it, only to realize you already had it? Yeah, me too, this note... when I scanned it in to inventory, I said what the...doh! The design and engraving are great, courtesy of ABNCo. The slave with cotton in the lower left is on a well sought after CSA note as well. Overall, better two copies than none eh?
Let's keep the fancy obsolete pickups going, this sharp looking Georgia obsolete $10 is from the Augusta Insurance and blah blah... another great ABNCo design with lively elements, the curved bank title and generous red overprint, off center engraving and that big red X... a really nice design overall.
