    It's a large date. After you see them side by side you will never have to ask. On the small date liberty is very weak, like the weak motto on 32 and some 34 quarters.

    I have seen pictures on google of them side by side, but I have yet to see a small date under my microscope. I think that's why this one tricked me into thinking it was a small date. I understand the weakness in LIBERTY, but you are probably right, once I physically see one, I will know the difference fully. Thanks guys.

    Just don't use Ebay as a reference - there are quite a few on there now advertised as small dates but are in fact large dates!

    large date, the 970 tops will all be lined up. the 7 on yours is lower indicating a large date
