I finally got around to photographing these tonight. Got them a few weeks ago. 03-O is VAM 4A, with a funny lump in front of the neck and below the 'n' of "In". Clashed through some sort of debris, perhaps. The 28 Peace dollar is just a nice looking coin. Grades withheld if you want to guess.
Nice peace dollar. I usually dislike them, because pretty much all the ones I've had have been terribly weak struck, and details don't show much. Good job
Nice looking coins!! Great images as well. I'm guessing the 1903-O is probably MS-65 I'm not good at Peace Dollars but I would guess the 1928 is MS-64+ maybe MS-65?
Very nice I'm not a dollar collector so I don't spend a lot of time grading them, but these are nice. Morgan MS64+ Peace MS64. I might have gone higher on the Peace but can't remember seeing one grade higher than 64 I'm sure they are out there and this might very well be one. Nice coins.
I Would say 63 in the Morgan, 64 on a good day. The Peace is hard to tell if it is a weak strike or, wear in the hair. Nice coin.
Two of you guessed the Morgan correctly at 64+. The 1928 Peace dollar is, believe it or not, AU58. It's a damn nice looking one, which is why I bought it. Very faint luster breaks on the tips of the feathers in the middle of the eagle's left wing and the forward part of Liberty's cheek.
There's also a ding of some sort on the Peace Dollar's rim on the reverse just below 2 o'clock, almost unnoticeable but nonetheless. That's as pretty a slider as I've ever seen. With that gorgeous toning it should easily grade as AU58++***BACON
Oh boy. On the 03o I was debating 64+ but thought the pic was exaggerating the cheek breaks and with how clean the fields and reverse are I went 65+. On the 28p I noticed the rubs but with how gorgeous the rest was I was thinking cabinet friction. Plus it's you so I was kinda biased Are you gonna play the crackout game the 28?
Probably not. 28-P gets enough scrutiny as a date that it would probably be graded 58 again. It's probably one of those coins that should go for "plus only" recosideration so I can get the coveted AU58+*BACON grade.
I'm going to go out on a limb and say the 1903 is ... MS64. Three marks on the cheek make me a sad panda. Nice coin though and one I would love to have in my collection!
