  1. I pulled this from a mint roll bought directly from the mint. It looks like damage but it doesn’t interfere with the lettering. Usually if it’s damage it runs through the letters. Ideas?

Really need to show the whole coin. Other areas can be affected

  5. Idk if this helps. It came from a mint roll I bought from the mint. I originally thought damage but irs not affecting the letters. I’m not sure I have a full shot.

It would appear to me to be a damaged planchet as the lines appear under the letters. Not sure how, but interesting none the less.

  8. Right? I’m not highly experienced but it looked odd. Is it a keeper?

Keeper.......may not be worth much, but pretty interesting.

Ooh, tricky -- that lettering is incuse, struck into the coin rather than standing out from the surface. The scrapes (because that's what they are) are also incuse. When you scratch across lettering that's struck into the coin instead of standing up from the coin, this is the result.

  11. Got it! I had no idea those weren’t raised letters. That’s really cool. I’m learning.

I initially thought that they might be incuse, but the glare and soft-focus tricked me…Spark

Looks like gouges in the collar die. Or at least some sort of collar damage.
